Darts Stars On
Target for Lewis
Appeal!
Friday
21st July
saw many rivalries
cast aside as Darts
Players converged on
the Belroy Hotel
with just one aim!
To raise funds and
promote awareness
for a local
Blackpool lad called
Lewis Edmundson and
held a charity night
in his honour.
Lewis (7)
accompanied by his
brother Damian (12)
and mum and dad,
Joanne and John
attended the evening
and said afterwards
that they had had
the time of their
lives.
Hotel proprietor,
Craig’s youngest
daughter, Chloe
Broadhurst aged just
8 stole the show
with an outstanding
effort in raising
funds when,
assisted by Natalie
Taylor (13), she
achieved sales of 3
specially printed
Dart Cards and
collected £150.00.
Players from PDC and
BDO alike stepped up
to the challenge and
supported the event
with kind donations
and gifts to be
auctioned off.
Sky Sports MC, Phil
Jones and Sky Darts
Referee, Russ Bray
each took turns on
the microphone to
raise the maximum
amount possible.
With grateful thanks
to the following
players for freely
giving their
merchandise and time
to ensure a great
response to the
Lewis Appeal.

Sports Sunday 23rd
July to Sunday 29th

The total sum of

and will be a huge
boost for The
Appeal.
As well as all the
support for the
Friday evening –
every PDC ranked
player added their
signatures to a
Birthday Card for
Lewis who will turn
8 on Tuesday 25th
July.
Lionel and Caroline
Sams are extremely
pleased with all the
kindness that has
been shown by so
many players and
would urge any
player to contact
the Edmundson family
if they wish to do
anything similar.
Dave Allen, (PDC
Media and
Communications) Tim
Darby (PDC Chief
Executive) and Barry
Hearn (PDC Chairman)
approved special VIP
passes to ensure
that Lewis, Damian,
Joanne and John
could attend the
World Matchplay on
Monday 24th
and witness the
darting action live.
Sky Sports made
mention and featured
Lewis during the
matches and it
showed in his
beaming face how
much fun he was
having.
Another Dart Player,
Dave Honey and his
wife Nikki are also
due to hold a
Charity Darts
evening on August 12th
and hope to exceed
the amount from
Friday 21st
July – The gauntlet
has been set!!
